Pensacola won 6-2. Box Score
- Billy Hamilton went 1-4 with a solo inside the park home run (2).
- Andrew Means went 2-4.
- Bill Rhinehart went 1-4 with a double and a run.
- Beau Mills went 2-4 with a double, 2 runs and a solo HR (6).

- Daniel Corcino went 1-3 with an RBI at the plate. On the mound he allowed a run in 6.1 innings with a walk and 6 strikeouts.
- Curtis Partch threw 1.2 shutout innings with 4 strikeouts.
Game notes
You can see video of Hamilton’s inside the park home run here. I have no idea how there wasn’t an error ruled on the play. Maybe not on the catch, but the center fielder then shovels the ball 10 feet backwards. I timed Hamilton at 13.75 on it and he didn’t break out of the box as fast as he could have. Fast. Daniel Corcino lowered his ERA to 3.05 on the year. Curtis Partch has a 2.56 ERA with 10 walks and 30 strikeouts in 31.2 innings as a reliever with the Blue Wahoos. The win coupled with a Montgomery loss puts Pensacola in first place all by themselves.

Hey Doug, I know it’s late & you got the Sun game summary up, but Billings won buddy. Hope you get some good rest. Nighty Night! LOL, :- Danny
Doug what about a projection on the Louisville lineup/rotation for next season?
A guess for the start of the year:
C: Corky Miller, Minor League FA
1B: Neftali Soto
2B: Brodie Greene, PJ Phillips
SS: Mariekson Julius Gregorious, Miguel Rojas
3B: Henry Rodriguez
LF: Josh Fellhauer
CF: Ryan Lamarre, Felix Perez
RF: Bryson Smith, Andrew Means
SP: Dan Corcino
SP: Tony Cingrani
SP: Pedro Villareal
SP: JC Sulburan
SP: Retread Veteran
LR: Mark Serrano
MR: Wilken De La Rosa
MR: Tim Crabbe
MR: Chris Manno
MR: Wirfin Obispo
SU: Curtis Partch
CL: Drew Hayes
I’m assuming you think Donnie Joseph will make the Reds pen next season?
Joseph and Hoover
I think Barnhart could be there with a good finish at AA. It would be nice to have our best defensive catcher ready to work with that legit rotation. If we don’t keep Navarro or bring in another FA catcher, Barnhart will get more time in ST (with the big boys) to show off his talent.
I think someone gives Navarro an MLB deal
how did we acquire Xavier Paul?
I believe we signed him as a FA from Indy ball
Donald Lutz promoted to AA Pensacola as per his twitter
I wonder if that means Y-Rod back to Bakersfield and Winker to Dayton?
Who gets the call to AAA
Mills?
My money is on Fellhauer and Lutz keeps getting time in LF
I wouldn’t have given the center fielder an error on Billy’s homer. The ball ricocheted off the other guy’s glove behind him against his momentum and he reached back with his bare hand and tried to scoop it. With all that happening so quick, that would have been quite an achievement to bring that in to his glove.
The amazing thing is that you could tell Billy could do even better without the slight stutter and the helmet grabs. He looks like Deion Sanders more than Drew Stubbs out there. I hope he stays away from football fields.
Well, that was a fun 7 hours of typing loudly to people who run my webhost. I still have no idea how or why the site is back because they haven’t talked to me in over 3 hours now and the site was ‘suspended’.
Hey Doug, thanks to your post, we now really understand and appreciate how much hard work you go through to reward us fine Reds fans with your great website. We hope you don’t have these problems in the future, but when you do have to invest alot of time, please help us know how much work you go through. Go Doug & the Reds! PS I did see the “Suspended” note today like you did.
We all appreciate it Doug, I was getting the shakes there for a while without my RML fix
I think it is Al Gores’ fault, Doug. He is the one that ‘invented’ the interwebs!! lol
Glad to have you back up and running! I was suffering from RML withdrawal.
Hey Doug, e-mail me back. I’m getting a full box message back. I have a couple of things to add to the Lotzkar interveiw (saw him again this last swing thru Chatt).
Just saw on MLB network that Votto is out for a couple of weeks for knee-surgery (per Rosenthal). That’s probably the main reason for the Lutz promotion.
I wonder who will be called up to the Reds. I assume that Frazier and Cairo will split time at first, but it sure would be nice to have another lefty bat around for times like these. Danny Dorn where are you?
If I were Dorn, the phone would go straight to voicemail.
Perhaps. And then call them right back and apologize you “missed” the call. Can’t let that much money go down the drain.
Yeah. I agree with you Yeah. lol
Bummer on the Votto news.
If they call someone up from L’ville, I’ve got to believe it will be Xavier Paul called up to provide the LH bat off the bench. The guy has had a decent year at AAA, and has ML experience the past few years.
Alternatively, there was a rumor last week that the Reds were interested in Mark Kotsay. This might force them to pony up on that deal….particularly since he plays 1st as well as batting left.
I was thinking about Paul too. That’d be my choice. Hopefully not Costanzo…..that ship has already sailed.
HRod needs to get the call up. We need someone who can hit, and spell Rolen at 3rd since Super Todd Frazier will be manning 1st base for the most part. I really can’t stomach seeing Cairo in the line up on a consistent basis. It makes a struggling offense anemic.
And it has sank.
Doug
Glad your back up felt like I was missing something all day…
Dayton on radio: how dumb is this move? Arias on 1st, Perez behind 0-2 cant bunt fair! Arias fakes running & AJ Cole throws a ball. Would you send Arias? I wouldn’t right after he faked! But Quad Cities knew he would run, so they pitched out. DeShields sent Arias anyway & he was out by a ton (per announcer)! First out at 2B! Then Perez singles! Hmmmm. You dont run right after you fake a steal & on a pitchout count!
