Winker, .970 OPS as an 18yo!?!? Thats ridiculous. I know it’s too early to project but if he can do that at the major league level in front of votto. . .

Except for strikeouts Daniel Corcino’s numbers are better than 2011. If the organizations goals are for him to increase his innings by 20 each year that will give him approximately 20 to go, after tonight, by the end of August. I would like to see him promoted to Louisville to see how he fares against that level for the last couple of weeks.

I would even think about putting him on the 40-man and moving him to Cincy for September for an emergency start and to just get the feel of it. I think he could be the #5 in 2013 if someone is moved over the winter or is injured.

I think the Reds are going to let him play out the year in Pensacola, just like they let him play out last year in Dayton. Not to mention Pensacola is in a playoff race while Louisville is about 30 games back.

I think in a non-playoff year, maybe Corcino and some others get a look, but not when in the thick of it — unless they offer immediate help, of course. Even then i am thinking defensive replacements for pinch hitting options, middle relievers, lh pinch hitting …

uninspired baseball last night at Pensacola, I would like to see a sense of urgency. I know its late in the season but boys lets go , would love to make the playoffs

Dusty left the door open to a September callup for Hamilton. Does anyone believe it? If it were me, I don’t see how you wouldn’t do it given the tightness of the division.

Another minor surgery for Votto yesterday, pushing back his return at least another week, probably two. Soto is hitting better lately. I don’t think he could do worse than Cairo as backup to first base.

Allen is pitching today for Dayton, Stephenson tomorrow.

    • DaveCT

Very excited in Allen’s performance as a starter, perhaps one of the leading ‘sleeper’ candidates for 2013.

    • Doug Gray

I thought that may be the case given the rain out. But the Dragons website listed Stephenson as of last night so I just went with it.
