With the holidays I got a little behind on the news and notes portion of things. So, here is a quick rundown of what I missed over the last week.

Mason Felt is expected to make a full recovery from his car accident related injuries. He was already recovering from Tommy John surgery, so with this, he may not be back for 2013 but he ix expected to come back and recover fully and that is the important part.

The Reds brought back Corky Miller, which is great given that the Louisville Bats will be giving away what may be the best bobblehead ever in 2013. Miller provides good depth at the AAA level in case there is an injury at the big league level for either Hanigan or Mesoraco.

The Reds signed Loek Van Mil, a 7′ 1″ pitcher who was formerly in the Twins system. I don’t honestly know any current reports on him, but at best I think he is a fringe kind of guy. There is probably a good reason he will be 28 and has a handful of AAA innings under his belt.

In other Reds minor league transactions, they have released Mitch Clarke and Jose Valdelamar. Clarke, if he re-signs with someone, will be facing a 50-game suspension for a second failed drug of recreation test. Valdelamar saw limited action in the US this year with the AZL Reds. He hit just .190 in just under 200 career minor league plate appearances.

Too bad about Mitch Clarke. Got to meet his parents along with him. Seemed like a nice kid. Guess some just don’t get it.

Kind of surprised they haven’t taken the same route with Daniel Tuttle. Maybe they have too much bonus money wrapped up in him.

I have a Corky Miller Chattanooga bobblehead but with no stache. Might need to make the trip to KY for this one.
