On Monday I will have an update about the future of the site. If you recall back in April things got touch and go with the site and because of that, I had to move some of the stuff to a “for pay” side of the website (as noted in the advertisement directly above). Well, things have been decided and I will have a lot more on Monday morning about the future of the site and where things are heading.
The 2014 Prospect Guide is officially being written. I completed two pages yesterday along with the schedule to try and keep me on track toward getting it completed on time. That also means that I have completed my prospect rankings, which will begin to show up on the website before the end of the month.
Baseball America released the International League Top 20 prospects last night. The Reds had one prospect make the list as Billy Hamilton came in at #10 on the list. Daniel Corcino was just addressed in the chat (subscription required). The report was similar to what I saw this season and have talked about on this site before. Velocity down, poor control issues.
Last night in the Arizona Fall League the Reds hitters had a good night at the plate. Yorman Rodriguez went 2-5 with a double, solo home run and 2 runs. Tucker Barnhart went 2-2 with a run and 2 walks. None of the Reds pitchers made it into the game for Glendale. Rodriguez is off to a quick start, going 5-10 with a walk, double, home run, 5 runs and 3 RBI.
The Venezuelan Winter League began last night. Felix Perez was the only Red to play. He went 2-5 with a double and a run at the plate.
John Erardi has up his Top 5 things the Reds must do at Cincinnati.com. The list is a good one. And he gives Robert Stephenson a terrible nickname that I hope doesn’t stick.
On a personal note, I will probably be away from the website all weekend. My brother and his wife are having their first child tonight, so I will be talking to my nephew about baseball at the hospital all weekend and hoping some of it sticks.
