The Cincinnati Reds minor leaguers begin playing spring training games today. They get a much later start than the big leaguers do, particularly when it comes to playing games. If you’re going to be in Arizona you can catch these games for free on the backfields. All games start at 1pm local time in Goodyear.

As you can see in the schedule below, the Triple-A and Double-A teams play/travel together, while the Advanced-A and Low-A teams also play/travel together. They have their own games within that group, but the two groups are together each day.

Here’s what the schedule looks like for those of you who are interested in checking out a game or ten.

If you’re going to be in Arizona, I will be there from Tuesday the 21st through Saturday the 25th. There may be one day where I actually hit the road for one of the games, but we will see. That just depends on the schedule for the pitchers. If you see me out there, feel free to come up and introduce yourself.

Thanks for this info Doug. Will be waiting for some updates and especially photos from Goodyear. Hope you can catch the night game on the 22nd vs. the Cubs at Goodyear ballpark too. Safe travels!

Setting in a minor league camp watching multiple games at same time, for free, is best part of a Spring Training visit. Have fun.
