Hitting .361/.395/.639 in June with 8 extra base hits. His OPS by month has gone from .594 to .860 to 1.034. After 29 walks in his first 45 games, he only has 1 in his last 11 though. Shed Long has an 8 game hit streak going, and a 10 game on base streak. Hate to see such a strong start from Jesus Reyes end up in a no decision and then a loss for the team. 8 innings in only 89 pitches (62 strikes) with only 4 base runners and 6 K’s to go along with 14 ground outs vs just 1 fly out is getting it done. His ground ball rate is stupid good so far this year, and has been pretty strong for his whole minor league career so far. He is 24 already though, so I could see him getting bumped up to Pensacola soon. Tyler Stephenson with 31 walks vs 40 K in his 54 games so far. Would like to see the hits and power take an uptick again, but that plate discipline will definitely play. Reply case June 13, 2017 Who all should get promoted in your opinion? Reply KSDAVIS June 13, 2017 Maybe Alex saw what was going on at 2nd base in Daytona, and realized he needed to get his act together, Reply The Duke June 13, 2017 After June 20 Alex Blandino to AAA (get time at 2B, 3B, SS, and LF) Eric Jagielo to AAA (crap or get off the pot) Tyler Mahle to AAA Ariel Hernandez to AAA Nick Senzel to AA (Van Meter to Blandino utility role in AA) Shed Long to AA (takes Blandino’s spot) Jesus Reyes to AA (Vlad Gutierrez needs more time in Daytona imo) Tanner Rainey to AA Brantley Bell to A+ (Luis Gonzalez takes over 2B role) TJ Friedl to A+ (rotate Medina/Crook/Sweet through DH role in Daytona) Scott Moss to A+ (Will likely hit an innings limit this year, but is ready for the challenge) Ryan Hendrix to A+ Max Wotell back to Dayton to round out the rotation. Reply case June 13, 2017 I like your list alot. I think LaValley and Luis Castillo could be in line for a promotion as well. Reply The Duke June 13, 2017 I actually meant to include Lavalley, really the only reason I have Jagielo moving up. Kindell June 13, 2017 I really hope everyone stays put for a couple more weeks for selfish reasons. I am catching a Daytona series the first few days in July, I was really hoping to see Senzel and Shed live for the first time this year. Reply Billy June 13, 2017 I missed all the draft stuff yesterday, so I’m going to ask here even though it really is the wrong thread… How many innings will the Reds be looking to get out of Greene this season? Was shutting it down pre-draft a good or bad thing? Will the Reds look at it as innings that they are glad to see him throw against better competition? Or will they look at it as making it more difficult to get the innings in to build his arm up for bigger workload next season and beyond? Reply Wes June 13, 2017 They got to sign him first. They did an awesome job of signing Senzel and getting him rolling last year and it paid huge dividends by doing that so hopefully they do the same with Greene. Time will tell for the rest of your questions, but I imagine he can put up some serious innings for rest of summer since he hasn’t pitched much. Hope to see him out there soon! Reply William Kubad June 13, 2017 Former Stanford Cardinal, Alex Blandino Strikes his 20th double and raises his on base percentage to .377. GO STANFORD CARDINAL BASEBALL Reply simon cowell June 13, 2017 alex will make a great bench player someday Reply Shawn June 13, 2017 Diddnt they change the signing deadline this year to get players in earlier? Does anyone know what date is? Reply Arnold Ziffle June 13, 2017 I think Doug mentioned it is July 15th. That is earlier. It was something like August 15th. Reply KyWilson1 June 13, 2017 July 15th believe. Reply kevin z June 13, 2017 could be nothin but lil bit worried about Trammell lately.. seems like since didn’t make the allstar team been striking out alot Reply Doug Gray June 13, 2017 Kevin, for the eleventy-billionth time, you need to stop worrying about people. Reply kevin z June 13, 2017 lol what can I say I am a worry wart, that what happens when you lose your mom and both sisters plus a brother before your 30 years of age lol Reply Doug Gray June 13, 2017 That’s a different kind of worry, though. Baseball is supposed to be fun. Let it be. Reply kevin z June 13, 2017 I agree Doug just that the reason why worry so much.. an def is fun Doug that’s what keep this guy going… well hoping trammel cuts back on SO then wont worry lol Reply kevin z June 13, 2017 any player Doug you interested in here soon for Reds next pick? Reply The Duke June 13, 2017 Look at recent Reds draft history, I would expect a college arm in rd 3, but that’s really just a guess.
