Last Friday was simply overloaded with other things, so the longest homers of the week took a short hiatus. It’s back this week and it’s going to cover the last two weeks. There were only a few home runs that I was unable to get distances for in this time frame. I did get the distances on 26 of them throughout the system in that time though. We’ve also got a new longest home run of the year.

While we usually only look at the Top 10, given that we’ve got two weeks worth of home runs, we’re going to 20 this week. Let’s take a look at the longest home runs in the Cincinnati Reds farm system over the last two weeks:

Day Player Distance
4-Jun Aristides Aquino 437
14-Jun Taylor Trammall 430
4-Jun Brandon Dixon 425
5-Jun Brandon Dixon 424
13-Jun Luis Gonzalez 419
10-Jun Phillip Ervin 404
6-Jun Gavin LaValley 396
9-Jun Shed Long 393
2-Jun Cassidy Brown 392
5-Jun Alex Blandino 387
7-Jun Gavin LaValley 387
3-Jun Luis Gonzalez 385
14-Jun Hernan Iribarren 385
11-Jun Alfredo Rodriguez 384
14-Jun Zach Vincej 380
5-Jun Nick Senzel 379
10-Jun Jose Siri 377
11-Jun Dilson Herrera 377
4-Jun TJ Friedl 375
7-Jun Chad Wallach 375

Aristides Aquino’s home run on June 4th was the longest of the year in the farm system so far. The video doesn’t catch the landing spot, but I was able to talk to someone who provided me with where it landed and was able to get a measurement from there. The video, however, tells you just how far it went. Watch the outfielders.

Taylor Trammell almost reached the same distance last night in Dayton. The 19-year-old absolutely clobbered a home run in Dayton that makes it’s way into the top 5 longest on the season, coming in at 430 feet.

Luis Gonzalez isn’t known for his power, but he really got into one on Tuesday, hitting it 419 feet off of the outfield awning in Dayton.

Phillip Ervin just missed hitting the ball completely out of Louisville Slugger Field last week, instead catching the top of the fence at the back of the stadium on a 404 foot blast down the line.

Longest Home Runs of the Year

Here’s the updated Top 10 distances for the season. Four home runs from the last two weeks entered into the Top 10 for the season, including a new top distance.

Luis Gonzalez is my favorite player in the reds farm system. He can play shortstop, 2nd base, 3rd, or even outfield. He is also friendly, and handsome! He definitely will put warm bodies in the chairs if, and when he plays for the Reds.
