Hi Doug, you have Luis Castillo listed as DNP. He went 6.2IP, 3H, 0ER, 1BB, 8K.

I just went back and watched the final inning that Robert Stephenson threw. As he walked off the mound he was looking at his pitching hand, then took his glove off and went to, what looked like to me, to pick at his hand. He’s been dealing with some blister issues, and given what he was doing, I’d be shocked if that’s not what popped up and that is why he was pulled after just 46 pitches.

Today was the introduction of the DR Express. Castillo to Peralta to Hernandez. All 97-100 MPH. Something to see more of in the future.

  4. MK

The AZL Reds did some great pitching allowing only one run when there were 6 errors by infielders (everyone had one with Case and Williams in the middle with 2 each)

So, Herrera played 3B in the first game. I’m guessing that’s a good sign that his shoulder is feeling fine (of course he also played a little 3B in ST and then had to sit because of the shoulder). With Gennett playing so well, I wonder if they’re trying to get Herrera a little more flexibility.

Rough night for the pitchers, especially Mahle. Everyone’s due for one at some point. Stephenson with 0 BBs in 3 IP though, even if he had to come out a little earlier than planned.

Makes you wonder why. Gennett can move over to third as well so not sure why they need to try Herrera there. You’ve already got Suarez plus Senzel on his way up through the ranks.

      • Jasonp

I don’t want to trade Suarez but if they did maybe they now have a player in Gennett that could play there until Senzel is ready. Boston and New York both need an upgrade at 3rd. Though with those teams they may think towards Machado as their future and not Suarez.

Devers is the real deal. Sox need a rental and a one-way ticket to South Korea for Sandoval. Like Bogaerts or Mookie, Devers stands out much more than the rest of the kids on a AA field. Suarez would be completely lost in Boston, besides (and I really like Suarez). Not near enough juju for that town.

      • Ryan

I’d maybe keep everyone? Suarez is looking like a better option than Peraza at SS. Gannett seems like the best option at 2b. Peraza could be the best option as a super sub or maybe even take over CF if he develops and/or Hamilton regresses. Herrera has to show he can hit and then maybe they could start moving some spare parts.

It was not in the Transaction but Matt Blandino was in Dragons dugout today. So I assume he is replacing Boyles.
