In your opinion. Reply Sandheel July 12, 2017 With all hands available, what could be the rationale for starting Tim Adleman in first game after break? Not wanting to hurt his confidence is a possibility but surely there is not much of that left. Reply Cguy July 12, 2017 It’s possible the Reds are trying to align certain ML sp on the same dates as pitchers at the AAA level. Most likely there’s going to be changes in the rotation with Garrett, Stephenson, Reed & others getting a few ML starts. Reply Colt Holt July 12, 2017 Not wanting to hurt his confidence? This isn’t Bronson Arroyo or Alfredo Simon with an 11 ERA we are talking about. Adleman has pitched okay and there is no Max Scherzer on the staff. With a rotation of 5’s and an often injured Homer Bailey, it is hard to argue that someone was clearly a better option. Reply Steve R July 12, 2017 I guess they want to move up the draft board! Reply Norwood Nate July 12, 2017 Real nice performance for Lopez. He’s done well adjusting to AA. 11 K’s is fantastic. Reply DaveCT July 12, 2017 He sure has. Lopez has been one of my sleepers for a season or two. A couple years post TJS now, could just be beginning to hit his stride. Pretty big arm. Reply Brad July 12, 2017 Have to imagine Jose Lopez is protected this off-season. My guess: Lopez, Blandino, Lavalley, Long, Mahle, Weiss. If Longhi is eligible, will be interesting if he is protected.
