There was no home field advantage for the Dragons today as there were three very close calls that went the other way.
Siri picked off first when he was back safely then came off the base Siri says the first baseman lifted his leg off the base to get him. He threw down his helmet and was ejected. Scout behind me was a little upset he did not get to see more of him. Beltre was later called out for being inside baseline on a bunt. In the ninth Trammel was called out stealing second, he looked safe to me, and the next hitter Yari homered which would have been a walk-off win if Trammel had been safe.

MK, thanks for always giving us your insight to the Dragon’s games!

Is jeter downs slumping a bit? (0-4 with 3k tonight)

Hitting .193 over last 10 games. It was pretty aggressive sending a high school kid to Billings. AZL probably a better fit.

      • Doug Gray

If he were having big strikeout issues, or big strikeout-to-walk ratio issues, I’d be more worried. But he’s not. Billings is probably the right place for him.

Reds & their minor league affiliates now 5 W & 27 L for the month. I am beginning to wonder, does somebody in the Reds FO think the Bats, Dragons, Mustangs, etc. will get better draft picks if they tank also, or is the entire organization just not good?

Just not sure that the mid season roster moves have helped the respective teams, other than Senzel and Mahle. Dragons have replaced Stephenson with Mitch Trees who is hitting .050 and can throw but can’t catch; Luis Gonzalez and Brantley Bell with Carlos Rivera who is hitting well below .200, T.J Friedl with Mitch Pistnick who is now injured but not hitting .200 ( hopefully Ventura is an upgrade); and Ryan Hendrix for several guys not performing as well. The guys that left Dayton are not doing as much for Daytona as the guys they replaced.

All of these moves probably have made sense from a player developmental perspective but have done nothing for the teams successes.

there is little to no offense in Daytona. I try to get over there in August but i won’t be doing that this year. There might be 2 or 3 guys that canmake a game interesting, otherwise I might as well go catch a 13U travel ball game
