Louisville: Season Complete Pensacola: Playoff Preview The Pensacola Blue Wahoos will take on the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp in a best of five game series. The first two games will take place in Pensacola, while the final three (if needed) will take place in Jacksonville. With that said, things could change as Hurricane Irma could be heading right towards Jacksonville by that time. Pensacola will go to right hander Deck McGuire in game 1. Thursday night they will go with right hander Jose Lopez. Friday night will see right hander Austin Ross on the mound. Saturday, if needed, right hander Keury Mella will toe the rubber for the Blue Wahoos. No game 5 starter has been announced yet. For the entire season, Pensacola went 74-66 while Jacksonville went 69-71. The Jumbo Shrimp, however, were much better in the second half, going 39-31 while the Blue Wahoos went 34-36. The two teams met 20 times on the season and Pensacola took the season series going away, 13-7. Daytona: Season Complete Dayton: Playoff Preview The Dayton Dragons will take on the West Michigan Whitecaps in a best of three series over the next three days (or two if either teams sweeps). Dayton will begin at home tonight at 7pm. The games on Thursday and Friday will both also be at 7pm and take place in West Michigan. The Dragons rotation will be right hander Andrew Jordan for game 1 and left hander Scott Moss for game 2. The starter for game 3 has not been announced yet. Bocephus September 6, 2017 They were going with him in game 1 until his last start. Not sure if he hurt a shoulder or elbow. Word I got was he felt a pinch in his elbow. They were hopeful that he might be able to start later in playoffs if they won first series. Maybe by them not naming game three guy it’s not as bad as they thought? MK September 6, 2017 Shoulder soreness for Santillan, but he might be available in later rounds if they advance. It was my understanding that the plan called for Wennington Romero to go in Game 3 of Dragons Series, unless of course then win games 1 and 2. I do think you will see a roster move as one of the relievers is having arm issues as well. I believe it is Nova but am not 100% sure. It makes the move of sending Patrick Riehl to Daytona for one day, a day he did not pitch, a little questionable. CP September 6, 2017 Any word on if Hunter Greene will pitch anymore this season? terry m September 6, 2017 Listed for tonight under GAME Preview….. Arnold Ziffle September 6, 2017 Even rookie league hitters can hit 100 mph fastballs out over the middle of the plate. Greene has a chance to redeem himself tonight. Six runs in 1/3 of an inning while starting is brutal to say the least. Maybe he can still DH. A .230 batting average says maybe not. A mountain of hype, and little in performance. Greene needs a check up from the neck up. Hope he gets that tonight. His team doesn’t need Greene spotting the other team a 6 run lead after 1 inning. Doug Gray September 6, 2017 Holy crap, Arnold. He’s had a handful of games in each role and you’re already trying to diagnose his head? Take about 50 steps back, take a deep breath and calm yourself. Goodness. Wes September 6, 2017 Arnie made that diagnosis back in may. Have to say he’s closer to right than rest of us at this point. May have to call it a lost season for Greene MikeD September 6, 2017 Wow, a barely 18 year old kid plays a few games and people want to start judging him. Come on guys, Hunter is a talented kid, that needs to develop like any other kid. He has pitched twice! Good grief. Enjoy the process and lets see if the results match what most every scout saw in this kid. As Doug said; breath! terry m September 6, 2017 Well said !!
