He had a 6+ ERA as a starter for the Wahoos, and a 2.3 ERA since becoming a reliever, giving up only 4 ER in 15 2/3 IP (3 of those ER came in his first relief outing, a 4 inning stint). He’s only given up a run in one of his other 9 outings. Also, what do we expect out of Bailey for Louisville tonight? And will Reed get to piggy back him and pick up where he leaves, or will Reed get pushed back, which in turns pushes Stephenson even more off track, which you pointed out last year he does much more poorly not on normal starter’s rest. Reply Matthew O'Neal June 11, 2018 Would also like to see Mella bumped to AAA, and move Nicolino to the pen or elsewhere, as he is very likely not part of Cincinnati’s future. Reply SultanofSwaff June 11, 2018 Yeah, I don’t get the plan either. We’ve got a full season of post-injury data on Bailey. If anything, he’s trending even worse than before. At this point, the only logical step is to try him in the bullpen. Of course Homer needs to quit being so hard-headed and get with the program. He’s only the umpteen millionth starter who’s had to do so. Homer, you’re not special!!! Reed and Stephenson are both in nice grooves working on a regular schedule, but ONCE AGAIN we’re going to sacrifice development to veteran privilege. Reply Kapple June 11, 2018 I’ll be honest with you. I really wish the Reds could just cut Bailey and pay the cost to do it. Reply Sandheel June 11, 2018 Amen, Kappie! Reply Kap June 11, 2018 Man, Dilson Herrera sure is making the “2nd baseman of the future” question a bit more difficult to solve. I wonder if he can be traded or will he end up if Cincinnati at some point this year Reply Kap June 11, 2018 BTW, I’m “Kapple” also. Lol almost revealed my last name Reply Leave a Reply Cancel Reply Your email address will not be published.CommentName* Email* Website Notify me of follow-up comments by email.
