The word is he will join Greeneville. May be in the lineup in the next couple of days.

I hope they give him a few days to adjust to playing SS before playing in real games. Far more important to his development than a handful of at-bats.

Said on the tv broadcast night before last, he will report to Greenville on Friday and start at third. Will ease into shortstop on down the line. I don’t like it, but I am as far from a decision maker as there is.

Jose Garcia’s improvement is very encouraging. If he can finish season hitting .230 that would be a huge development from where he started.

Have to think TJ Friedl’s stock is improving as a future 4th OF. Ervin and Aquino have not produced while Friedl has. Can see him as 4th OF (in my mind, 4th OF is the one that can play CF while 5th is more of a corner outfield player) as soon as late 2019. A lot will depend on what Reds do with Billy Hamilton.

Reds dont have a ton of players that need to be added to 40-man this off-season by a quick glance: RHRP Herget, C Clementina. Senzel in mid-April.

40-man spots at risk: Bailey, Aquino, Ervin, Dixon. Plus, 1 currently open with Floro trade.

I would think a few more might need to be added. A rebuilding team could grab Cory Thompson and hide him in the back back back of the bullpen, then send him to the minors. Then you have Dilson Herrera who I don’t believe they will just let walk at the end of the year.
You also have Rookie Davis who will need his 40 man spot back sometime in the nearish(?) future.

Absolutely, and great to see! Honestly, Bailey has looked better in his last two starts as well.
