Why did Sean Henry leave the Chattanooga game last night in the 1st Inning? I assume something happened when he got caught stealing or something.

  2. He was HBP so maybe that was something acting up.

  3. why has hinderbilt not pitched in a while is he hurt?

  4. It’s only taken 2 years, but it seems like Dickerson has finally figured out how to hit AAA pitching. I still don’t seem him as much more than a 5th OFer used primarily for speed on the basepaths and defense. Kind of a bigger version of Coery Patterson.

    Rosales continues his hto streak.

Helluva AAA debut for Fisher, all 5 of his outs are K’s, no runs given up, and he gets the win. You have to like his sinker for the pen, and he gets decent velocity as well. If he works out as a reliever, it will really fill in the backend of the pen behind Cordero, Burton, Roenicke, and Bray.

Pelland has rebounded nicely after a rought start.

Good to see Geronimo finally got his much deserved callup. Despite his lack of “stuff” i’ll continue to watch him with interest until he gets to a level that he can’t adjust too and get guys out.

Stubbs with 6 BB vs 5 K in 5 games is great. I’ll take the K’s every day of the week as long as he has the high walk rate to go with hit. The power I could care less about because I want him to be a pure leadoff type hitter anyway. OBP, SB, and defense are what have me excited about Stubbs. Stubbs in center, Bruce in right, and one of Cumberland/Henry/Dorn/Heisey/Frazier/Soto in left will be the best defensive outfield the Reds will have had in a looooong time.

Cozart and Soto continue to mash for Dayton. These two just work as teh 2-3 hitters.

Tony Brown with 8 HR in 27 games, while hitting for a good avg as well. At this rate he might challenge Waring’s single season Billings HR record of 20. He and Buchholz will be the bats to watch in Dayton next year.

How is Jordan Wideman’s defense? Because even in rookie ball you have to take notice of a 19 year old CATCHER hitting .300. Assuming Mesoraco starts off next year in high A, he should be the main catcher for the Dragons.

  5. Dickerson can take actually take a walk unlike Patterson though.

  6. No one mentioned Jukich’s AAA debut?

  7. hey did you guys see mesoraco threw out 1 of 2 trying to steal in the in 2-1 loss and he was 2-4 at the plate with a walk.

  8. D:

I hope you’re right about Stubbs. I just don’t know if he can make consistent enough contact to lead off. I agree that with his speed in center, he’d make the ideal leadoff man the Reds have lacked for a long time.

It just seems like every time I see Stubbs’ game stats he goes 1-4. Well, at least that’s better than Patterson.

  9. Stubbs linedrive rate has been way up this year, and slowly but surely he is cutting down on the K’s a bit while increasing his walk rate. As a leadoff hitter, the K’s don’t mean as much since he will have fewer people to move over. His OBP drives his value, and he is developing great OBP skills.

    josh,
    Hildenbrandt pitched Friday.

    D,
Not too sure on Widemans defense. I haven’t seen him play in person yet and I haven’t read anything on him either.

  11. No one mentioned the most impressive stat of the day. Fisher threw 20 of 26 pitches for strikes and still walked a batter.

  12. Jim,
I am going to go back and watch the game later tonight to see Fisher. I wonder if its one of those ‘pitch around him’ type things with that walk, or if guys were expanding the zone.
