Aaron Harang on 4/5/08 vs Phillies

April 6th, 2008 · No Comments

Just wanted to take a quick look at the plot of the pitches Aaron Harang threw versus the Phillies on Saturday. Watching the game on TV I just kept thinking, this isn’t very Aaron Harang like. Then I realized he had just gone 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. I think he is just so methodical that it seemed like he wasn’t pitching as well as he was.

Here is what Harang did against the Phillies on Saturday:

Mostly around the zone like he always is. He had a nice group of called strikes on the left corner of the plate. I do find it interesting that he missed low often on the right half of the plate, but hardly on the left half. It looks like most of his ‘in play outs’ were in the middle of the zone, but mostly on the left half of the plate.
