Harang has now had three starts and put up very strong numbers with a 2.14 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 14 hits allowed in 21 innings pitched. I thought I would look at what he did versus right handers and then what he did versus left handers and see if he approached them the same way or if he implemented a different strategy against specific types.
Harang versus Right Handed Batters

As you can see by the chart, Harang does not come inside hardly at all against right handers. He seems to pound the outside part of the zone. With the control that he has, it makes sense that he would just try and nibble the outside half of the plate rather than try to nibble on the inside half.
Harang versus Left Handed Batters

It looks like the chart above, just reversed. Harang continues to try and work away and on the outer half of the zone. He hardly came inside with the ball and looked to just pound the outside. Really, it looks like Harang comes at all batters the same. Pound the outer half of the zone and only come inside every so often.
