Saturday afternoon saw a whole lot of player movement throughout the Cincinnati Reds farm system. Let’s start with what is happening at the lowest level, the Dayton Dragons. Outfielder Narciso Crook and catcher Morgan Lofstrom were promoted to Daytona. Outfielder Andy Sugilio was activated from the disabled list. Crook has been hitting very well for the Dragons, posting a .263/.337/.525 in 92 plate appearances. Lofstrom, who has played some first base as well as catcher, has hit .250/.344/.357 in 32 plate appearances with Dayton this season. Andy Sugilio, one of the Reds Top 25 prospects, is returning from the disabled list after having a hamstring injury in the second game of the year. He had been one of the prospects to watch when the season began. Be sure to keep an eye on what the switch hitting speedster can do. Last season he hit .345/.390/.472 with 20 steals for the Billings Mustangs.

Daytona roster moves

The chain reaction of moves went through the entire organization. Daytona transferred both Hector Vargas and Malik Collymore to the Billings roster. In addition to adding the two players from Dayton they also added Shane Mardirosian from extended spring training. Catcher Cassidy Brown was promoted to Double-A Pensacola.

Pensacola roster moves

When moving up to Double-A Pensacola they promoted one of their catchers, Chad Tromp, up to Triple-A Louisville. He was hitting .247/.340/.306 in 98 plate appearances for the Blue Wahoos in 25 games played. Tromp is actually in the starting lineup for the Bats tonight.

Louisville roster moves

With the Triple-A Louisville Bats, they received Chad Tromp as mentioned above. They needed him because catcher Joe Hudson was placed on the disabled list  with a right hip flexor strain. He had just recently joined the Bats after missing the first month of the year.
