Every year at Redsfest the Cincinnati Reds hand out their organizational awards on the main stage on Friday night. Last night saw the team do it once again and they started out by handing out the Reds Affiliate Outreach Award to Leandro Santana.

We’ll forgive whoever was in charge for editing the video for a few weird glitches in their editing (two of which involved a photo I took – at 0:07 and then at 0:18) of the video above. As the video notes, Leandro Santana got the nod as the Dayton Dragons Community Player of the Year Award for his community service throughout the season in Dayton. The same service and outreach that earned him that award helped him get the nod on the main stage at Redsfest on Friday night.

On the field he was with Dayton all year and played in 113 games. Over his 442 plate appearances with the Dragons he hit .217/.286/.328 with 15 doubles, a triple, and 9 home runs. Defensively he saw even playing time at both third base and at first base.

What is that three or four years in a row a Dragons player has won this?

I think I heard that a Dragons player has won it every year but one.
