Today they followed that up be sending 12 more players back to minor league camp. All of the players that were sent back to minor league camps were on non-roster invitations. No players were optioned. Pitchers Tony Santillan and Odrisamer Despaigne were sent to the backfields. Outfielders Aristides Aquino, TJ Friedl, Brian O’Grady, Jordan Patterson, Taylor Trammell, Mason Williams, and Kyle Wren were sent down. Infielder Alfredo Rodriguez was also sent back to the minor league side of things with catchers Chris Okey and Tyler Stephenson. There’s not much surprise to these moves. With the way that the roster seems to be shaping up, short of injuries there didn’t appear to be a spot available for any of the players that were sent to the minors today. There are now 45 players remaining in Cincinnati Reds camp. Here’s the list: Pitchers Anthony Bass Matt Bowman Luis Castillo Anthony DeSclafani Sonny Gray Vladimir Gutierrez David Hernandez Jared Hughes Raisel Iglesias Michael Lorenzen Tyler Mahle Jesus Reyes Tanner Roark Sal Romano Lucas Sims Robert Stephenson Matt Wisler Buddy Boshers Zach Duke Brandon Finnegan Amir Garrett Ian Krol Wandy Peralta Cody Reed Alex Wood Catchers Tucker Barnhart Curt Casali Kyle Farmer Juan Graterol Connor Joe Infielders Alex Blandino Christian Colon Scooter Gennett Jose Iglesias Jose Peraza Eugenio Suarez Blake Trahan Joey Votto Outfielders Derek Dietrich Phillip Ervin Matt Kemp Yasiel Puig Scott Schebler Nick Senzel Jesse Winker Share this:FacebookTwitterRedditPocket 7 Responses Indydoug March 12, 2019 Is the OF designation for Dietrich yours or Reds? If Reds see him primarily as an OF (know he played there mostly last year), that would seem to make his chances slim and none to make team Daytonisn March 12, 2019 Dietrich will stay no matter where he’s listed. Versatile. A very good fill and a bat with power off the bench. Doug Gray March 12, 2019 The Reds. That’s how he was listed in their release of “players still remaining in camp”. He’s got to be listed somewhere. I would not read anything into it. He plays the infield and outfield. Cguy March 12, 2019 I saw on ESPN site where Tebow (among other prospects) had been reassigned by the Mets. One of the others reassigned was one Dilson Hererra. I then scrolled back through Doug’s site to July 6, 2018 an item “Dilson Hererra promoted to Cinn. Reds” and read the posts. Funny how times—– and opinions ——have changed. AirborneJayJay March 13, 2019 Doug be having a new twitter picture up. Spiffy. Sportin’ a chocolate milk mustache now. Your dog or cat didn’t run away I hope? I’d say he must be ready to ride off through the Pecos to Arizona. I know your travels will be over land, but to you I say, Fair Winds and Following Seas. Be careful. Big storms out west now. Adam March 13, 2019 Doug–I just saw that Brad Keller will be starting for the Royals on Opening Day. The Reds selected him during the 2017 Rule 5 Draft and immediately traded him to KC for a PTBNL. Any idea who we eventually got in return? Doug Gray March 13, 2019 His old friend pile o cash, probably.
