Today is the day that we get the rest of the Cincinnati Reds minor league team rosters for the start of 2019. The Low-A Dayton Dragons roster came out on Friday. The Daytona Tortugas, the Advanced-A affiliate of the Reds was the first to hit the landscape today. Now we get the roster for the Double-A team in their new home with the Chattanooga Lookouts.

The Reds are returning to Chattanooga after spending the 2009-2018 seasons with other Double-A affiliates. And their coming back with a loaded squad that features multiple Top 10 Reds prospects.

The team is led in the outfield by the Lookouts top prospect, Taylor Trammell. The Reds third ranked prospect is joined by another top 10 organizational prospect in Jose Siri, who is returning to Double-A after spending half of a season at the level in 2018. TJ Friedl, a top 20 prospect in the organization is also out there and like Siri, will be returning to the level after spending the second half in the Southern League in 2018. Narciso Crook and Courtney Hawkins are also among the outfield, which will be a very interesting group that should provide incredible defense and plenty of pop.

On the infield the team will be led by Ibandel Isabel, who hit a Florida State League record 35 home runs last year – and 36 overall during the season. He’ll be joined by Alfredo Rodriguez at shortstop, as well as Brantley Bell, Luis Gonzalez, Gavin LaValley, and Alberti Chavez. Gonzalez, LaValley, and Chavez will all be returning to the Double-A level this season.

Behind the plate will be a tandem of catchers. Tyler Stephenson, the Reds 6th ranked prospect, will be joined by Cassidy Brown. For Stephenson it will be his first taste of Double-A. Brown played in 30 games last year at the level with Pensacola.

The pitching staff is going to be led by Reds 4th best prospect Tony Santillan. He made 11 starts in Double-A last season for Pensacola where he had 61 strikeouts and just 16 walks in 62.1 innings pitched while winning the RedsMinorLeagues.com Player of the Year Award. Newcomer to the organization Jordan Johnson will be in Chattanooga to start the season after being acquired in late March. In the bullpen you’ll get to see top 25 prospects Joel Kuhnel and Ryan Hendrix.

I’m not tracking down the post, but one of my spring training reports had in there that Travieso would begin the year in extended spring training, but things were going well and he was on target to pitch the first half of this season assuming there are no setbacks.

Or Nick Howard. I guess drafting Nicks #1 have not paid off as of yet

I wondered about Travieso, he’s just completely fallen off the map since his injury.

Ecstatic that the Reds are (finally) back in town! I’m in hog heaven right now. If anyone is in town to see some games, look me up! 45+ year Reds fan.

I like that rotation of Santillan, Moss, Antone, Johnson, and Strahan. I like this team pretty much. First half champs.

How good defensively is an outfield of Siri, Friedl , and Trammell?
Where would it rank among MLB defensive OFs? Way better than the current one in Cincinnati.
