Alejo Lopez is off to a nice start. He’d shown he could hit at previous levels, but it’s always nice to see him do it at a higher level in a difficult hitting environment.

Richardson certainly deserved a better fait. He had not allowed a hit until the fourth. His pitches were knee high on both corners. It took a couple innings to find his release point on his breaking ball. He picked two runners off first base but Jay Schuyler muffed the throw to second both times (sending one into left field). By the looks of it he has not played much first base. Those plays really increased Lyon’s pitch count. Then in fourth still with no-hitter in tact Lyon took a hard line drive off of his right calf that went for infield hit. I was amazed no trainer or coach went out to check on him. From that point on the pitches that had been knee high became thigh high and he was hit pretty hard.

Doug- sss caveat but is there any news on a different approach for Alf-Rod? Quite the start for him at least being able to put bat to ball
