Im not sure the last time(tentatively going with Y-Rod) I was as high on a Reds signed international free agent as I am now with Mariel Bautista. Usually guys that make noise are in the mold of his current teammate Pabel Manzanero who are older for their level or like Juan Francisco and have major red flags in the plate discipline department. Heres to hoping he stays hot!

I saw both (Bautista and Manzanero) hit long HR for Billings Mustangs vs Orem Owlzz last summer. I picked up the Manzanero ball on the entrance ramp to I-15 on the way home.

Hopefully Santillan is able to limit the walks in his start today. Crazy good K numbers, but stupid high walk numbers to go with it so far this year.

    • Norwood Nate

Three HRs in a game is a feat regardless of the level. Sometimes C offense is slow to come around. He did seem to come out of nowhere though.

Manzanero can flat out hit good power good behind the plate Great kidm

What is more impressive? Three home runs for Manzanero or three walks for Siri?

Watching Bats on TV, Senzel has a lot of work to do on outfield defense. An infielders mentality in the outfield can be costly. Unlike infield a dive for a ball isn’t always the best attempt. A miss in the infield means one base, in the outfield two maybe three.

The bat will need time to come around, too. Three whiffs in five at bats. I expect the bat to come around faster than the fielding.

Speaking of outfield defense, watching the Reds last night was brutal at times. Woof.

I still say Trammell should be playing CF every… single… day. His ability to track down balls and overall speed and athleticism are far more important that his ability to possibly prevent a runner from taking an extra base. It is also not like his arm is criminally deficient. Coupled with the friendly confines of GABP and the NL Central parks, he could be a decent if not solid CF’er for the Reds.

I think Senzel will be Reds CF for next decade. Trammell more likely LF.

If your 3 OF’ers of the future are Winker, Senzel, and Trammel, I think the best defensive lineup would be WinkLF, Senzel RF, Trammel CF.

Trammell not CF. Better arm for LF. Senzel likely CF for next decade.

Put Winker in RF over Trammell being there.

Winker needs to be Votto’s replacement if anything
