AlfRod hitting .323. Never thought I’d see the day. That’s a huge plus for the organization if that signing pans out.

Turns 25 in a month so he’s playing over a year older than the average in AA and still only hitting singles.

Are we not able to celebrate any sort of an improvement in AlfRod? He is improving….sometimes it takes a while for it to click for a player.

18 of the Bats were born the same year or years before Alf-Rod. That’s 18 of 29 on the roster , active or non. Doubt they are calling him Gramps.

Yeah, it’s great to see AlfRod hitting.

Doug, question on my Mauldin hometown boy, Cory Thompson. Does he have a shot at being a legit prospect after transitioning from SS to pitching later in his career? His numbers look good, but does he have good stuff?

Not Doug, but I was impressed with him last season in Dayton last year. Since it was his first full season as a pitcher he appeared to tire a little in the second half. I would expect that will improve this year as he is better prepared for the wear and tear. Think Reds had the same decision to make with him as Hunter Greene and they picked shortstop. Kid has a great off the field attitude I assume that carries over to on the field.

Ryan Lillie is pretty interesting prospect. He was converted from a catcher his freshman year in college and did not start a game until his Junior year in 2017. Reports say increased velocity every year in college as well.

Perhaps the most intriguing thing about him is that he is a pitcher and the Marlins traded him away. 4 of the current top 15 pitchers in the MLB were Marlins.

With Crook being promoted to the Bats it gets Friedl back into line-up. His three hits yesterday got him off the interstate.

    • Doug Gray

Friedl being off of the injured list got him back into the lineup. He played nearly every day when he was healthy.
