Wonder if they have him go 2 or 3 IP. Hopefully not 1 again, but I wouldn’t be overly shocked if it happens. MK June 25, 2019 Should be on MiLB TV again. For a guy who has gone 7 or 8 all year I find it hard to see what he is learning, one inning at a time. Guess I would rather see him go 5 innings 5 times, then shut him down rather than one or two at a time. RobL June 25, 2019 He is getting used to pitching every fifth day as opposed to once a week. terry m June 25, 2019 Much better game by Vlad. Hope this is the start of a good second half !!! terry m June 25, 2019 Doug The young Mexican pitcher the Reds signed has he been assigned to a team yet ?? MK June 25, 2019 I kind of figured at his age he would show up in DSL. It would be more age and language appropriate. There would be far fewer travel issues as well. I’m not sure where the transactions for that league show up. Doug Gray June 25, 2019 The Reds almost never assign Mexican kids to the DSL. They almost always end up at the complex in Goodyear. Jeffreyp June 25, 2019 Any word on how Cody Reed is progressing? Simon Cowell June 25, 2019 Just read a story on the Yankees wanting Luis Castillo. What would the Reds demand for him if they would even entertain an offer? MikeD June 25, 2019 Let’s see, a controllable ace. Half of their controllable roster! The Reds have spent a few years trying to get pitching and trading a legit #1 would be crazy! kevinz June 25, 2019 I read the same thing. I do not think makes any sense for the Reds. All off season the Motto was is to get the Pitching not get it then lose it. Roark diff type though since on last year plus not on Castillo type level. Superstar type play with other Pieces the only way I think about trading LC. The only reason see trading him is if they think the Walks will stay and that will be Long term issue. Colt Holt June 25, 2019 To be fair, Reds should seriously consider trading him for the right offer. Anthony desclafani is evidence of what injuries can do to a solid pitcher with 4.5 years left. I advocated for disco to be traded before the injuries struck (because they were going to suck for three of those years). If an equally star caliber bat was made available, or four top fifty prospects, you take it and run Colt Holt June 25, 2019 Aaron Judge plus. That sounds ridiculous, because the yanks would never trade judge. For the very same reason, Luis Castillo won’t be traded either. You don’t trade a top 30 starter with 4.5 years of control with Clint Frazier as the centerpiece. I would need four to five Clint Frazier’s to think about somebody with so little proven in exchange for Castillo. Wes June 25, 2019 Yanks don’t have the minor league talent to obtain Castillo. Glad to hear the name drop though. Hoping someone gets real desperate and makes an offer reds can’t refuse. There’s a handful of contenders who have the talent. Brad June 25, 2019 Yanks get RHSP Castillo Reds get SS Torres, CF Frazier, LHRP Tarpley, RHSP German, MiLB C Seigler Who says no? Hoyce June 25, 2019 Trading anyone for the right price would be smart Colt Holt June 25, 2019 +1. Look at Jose Ramirez! I bet the Indians wished they had listened to offers and pulled a trigger a year ago! With a small market team, spreading risk can be worth it as long as the value coming back is enough. I can think of a pretty strong package the Padres could offer starting with Gore and adding major pieces from there for Castillo. Doesn’t mean they would do it, but if they were willing, you better be willing to pull the trigger! kevinz June 25, 2019 hmm Fairchild in AA was hoping see that. Hope goes well . terry m June 25, 2019 Doug in Greenville. Got plug on radio… Redsvol June 25, 2019 sorry to see that Alex Wood had a setback. I’d really like to see him pitch for Reds this year but the year is getting away from him. On another note, thank goodness we didn’t sign Zack Cozart to a long term deal when he became a free agent! Colt Holt June 25, 2019 I just read a couple of the articles. I find it incredible that the writers think that the reds should be chomping at the bit to get Frazier and him headlining should entice the Reds to throw Castillo their way. Wes June 25, 2019 I don’t. All media is fake news pushing an agenda (except Doug of course) Hanawi June 26, 2019 Now I know why Dayton has had bad pitching all year. The rookie league teams…ouch. Not sure why the Reds have been completely unable to develop pitching over the years.
