The Louisville Bats are on the All-Star Break

Alex Wood should be scheduled to start for Louisville on Thursday, but the starter is still listed as TBA. With the All-Star break going on I would not read into that at all.

The Chattanooga Lookouts had the night off.

The Daytona Tortugas lost 7-6 in 11 innings. Box Score

The Dayton Dragons won 6-2. Box Score

The Billings Mustangs won 8-5. Box Score

The Greeneville Reds won 9-3. Box Score

The AZL Reds had the night off.

Patrick Raby with his pro debut. You think he’s in the bullpen because he already started a whole college season, or maybe they place him there hoping his stuff ticks up in short stints as opposed to starting?

I wasn’t able to watch any of the CWS this year. How does Raby look on the mound?

He pitched out of the bullpen in the World Series. Checking his Vanderbilt stats at Baseball Cube it showed no pitching stats for 2018 but a full season of hitting stats.

Raby did quite well at Vandy in 2019.
        10-1, 3.08 ERA, 18 G, 15 GS, 76.0 IP, 75 H, 34 R, 26 ER, 46 BB, 81 K, .260 OBA.
        In 2018:
        5-5, 3.57 ERA, 16 G, 12 GS, 68.0 IP, 69 H, 29 R, 27 ER, 33 BB, 57 K, .271 OBA.
From the Vandy baseball team web site:
“Coach Corbin Quote: Patrick continues to be one of our strongest leaders and most connected players in our program. To have his ability and experience back for a senior year is special. Plain and simple, he is a tough competitor that we trust. He is the winningest pitcher in our program and has been a part of winning environments everywhere that he has played. He is a pleasure to be around and coach. We will continue to rely on him heavily as he positively impacts our program and pitching staff.”

Nick Ciuffo assigned to Lookouts. With Stephenson and Okey there it seems like an odd choice

He’s injured and it doesn’t sound like he’ll be ready for at least a few more weeks.
