Lookouts did not catch a break being in Mississippi when a Gulf storm hit land.

Clate Schmidt another good outing for Dragons yesterday, this time in closer role. The guy has flourished in the Midwest League with Detroit’s West Michigan and Dayton but has struggled in the Florida State League for both. Hopefully Reds can get him over the hump. Nice win for Dayton getting down by 5 and coming back.

It was Dictator Thief day in Arizona as Castro and Franco both stole a base. I love the names on the Goodyear Reds. Even Falcon swooped in. This team is a headline writer’s dream.

    .416 OBP, .800 OPS for Blandino. Peraza–.286, .651.

I hope the Reds don’t buy into a couple good games at high altitude from Peraza and somehow think he’s turned a corner. He’s simply not a long term option. Time to look at a first rounder coming into his prime who showed potential before his injury. Like Ervin, Blandino deserves an extended look.

Blandino is playing AAA. Peraza is playing MLB. Apples and oranges.

But send Mahle down to AAA and bring up Lucas Sims. Yessir!

Peraza is Hitting over 290 when he starts. Hitting under 200 when he does not. They showed that stat while playing at Col.

    • Wes

Peraza (25) has over 1600 mlb at bats. Blandino (27 before season is over) has 128. Itll never happen. Reds would have to move Dietrich and Iglesias for blandino to get a chance- doubt that happens either

      • RedsKoolAidDrinker

Wes that’s really what they should do imo. Move what you can and get what you can for J Iglesias, Deitrich, Gennett, and Puig. See what you have in VanMeter, Blandino, Ervin, Aquino, and O’Grady. I also believe they won’t subtract bc Castilano is too impatient and nonsensical.

Is Garcia a double machine or what? Going to have some great options for shortstop in the future.

Doug, Was Andy Fisher an undrafted free agent out of college ? If so, seems to be doing well for Greenville.

Fisher was teammate of Bren Spillane at Illinois. Don’t know how BGSU let him get out of hometown Bowling Green though.
