Could you imagine that will the tools of Senzel along with Aquino. Man been having that dream for awhile. Add in if Crook has figured it out while in a little slump at the Moment. The Size and Tools this team would Have . I would not Fight that Team that is for sure lol. Reply haven August 10, 2019 Curious how everyone feels about Senzel? I’m just not sure what to make of him at this point, He’s insanely green so next year he’ll most likely be a different player. He is already 24 years old, the power has been lacking he isn’t a bust by any means but i thought we had a Hunter pence type hitter and i’m not sure what he is. this is also after going through other rookies this year, so maybe its just a knee jerk reaction. wanted to get your guys thought. Reply Ryan August 10, 2019 He’s had 2 bouts of “allergies” this season so far this season which is worrisome. Overall im okay with his play so far. I think there still much more potential in the tank. Hopefully he finds that potential sooner than later. Reply Alex August 10, 2019 Hunter pence comp seems fair, I just looked up hunter pence and he wasnt as good of a player as i remember. he never had a season over .900 ops but was a solid player every year. I would bet senzel will be better next year though. He will know what he needs to work on most during off season. Reply Michael Smith August 10, 2019 @alex Hmm Ill take a career 115 ops+ while playing at a more important defensive position. Jonathan Linn August 10, 2019 @ Haven – have we all forgotten that Senzel is a rookie? Give the guy a break, please. The sky isnt falling just because he has lite the league on fire. Reply Haven August 10, 2019 I mean I said that but also he’s a 24 year old rookie who was a top ten prospect in baseball. With guys like Soto,Acuna and even the kid from the brewers doing so well from the go I’m just saying it makes me worried about what his ceiling is, I think his floor is incredible. kevinz August 10, 2019 He changed his swing or stance at well Senzel has. Hit a Bomb with it Cguy August 10, 2019 So by designating Hernandez, the Reds hope another team claims him, & has to pay the remainder of his contract? Is this an unintended consequence of the new trading deadline rules? There seems to be a large number of recognizable veterans being DFA this August. Reply Bill August 10, 2019 The Hernandez DFA was an admission that Hernandez was not helping the team. I think the chances are pretty slim another team claims him. At best, he’ll get signed as a ML Free Agent for the remainder of this season. He gave us a great year and one-half … I hope he returns to form and gets to pitch again. Reply cinvenfan August 10, 2019 Siri’s development would be a great addition to the team. The OF becomes much better defensively, allows Senzel to take over 2B. An Of playing close to MLB minimum gives them the chance to lock guys like Castillo, Bauer (even year to year), Wood or sign FA to improve C, SS and ‘pen. Reply Cguy August 10, 2019 One way to improve the bullpen is to keep your sp in the game & limit the bullpens workload. In Trevor Bauer the Reds have acquired the pitcher who’s logged the most IP (168.1) this season & who has a history of pitching 170+ innings. Reds had apretty decent bullpen in the first half of this year, but they appear fatigued. Reply MK August 10, 2019 Bauer should have been allowed to go at least one more. RojoBenjy August 10, 2019 Another option if Siri pans out AND if Van Meter takes off, is it frees Suárez’s contract. Senzel can slide to third. Suárez could bring a nifty haul. Reply DaveCT August 10, 2019 I think the club is all in on the Castillo/Suarez core of the team. I don’t think either is going anywhere any time soon. If anything, a supplementary part like Winker, Ervin, VanMeter or even India becomes a trade chip to fill a need such as reliever if Siri and Aquino proves themselves as fulltime starters in the OF Redsvol August 10, 2019 odd to bring Romano up to pitch out of the bullpen. In louisville he’s been great starting and terrible in the bullpen. Man, we have absolutely no starting pitching depth in the minors this year. The draft & develop guys the last 3-4 years have no business still having a job with the reds. where are Nick Hanson, Tyler Mondile, Andy Cox, Alex Webb, Jacob Heatherly, Tyler Buffet, Conner Ryan Campbell, Yomile maysonet. All top round draft picks nowhere to be found. Not to mention Nick Howard and Nick Travieso. Sad……. Reply Andrew August 10, 2019 Bauer Castillo Gray DeSclafani Mahle Depth is nice, but that 2020 rotation is one of the top 5 in the game so im not too concerned. Highly likely the Reds go out and get another FA this offseason too. Reply AWA85 August 10, 2019 I would take a rotation of: Castillo Bauer Gray Wood DeSclafani Not sure what Wood’s thought are, but let’s load up a contract with all sorts of incentives. Wes August 10, 2019 Bring back farmer and wood is likely to follow. Not saying reds should do that but it will for sure give you a big advantage to keep wood. Bill August 10, 2019 I’m with AWA85, I’d like to bring back Wood. He’s a quality starting pitcher and being LH he gives teams a different look from others in our rotation. Mahle can still be optioned next year. It takes more than 5 starting pitchers to make it through the season. Cguy August 10, 2019 I would be just ecstatic with AWA85’s rotation for 2020. On the other hand, I’d still like the Reds to try to trade for Detroit’s LHSP Matt Boyd this winter. MK August 10, 2019 Mondile learned the hard way you do not get into a physical altercation with the #1 prospect at he same time using racial slurs. Reply RojoBenjy August 10, 2019 He got what he deserved. Indie league baseball exile. Cguy August 10, 2019 Well Reds had 4th round pick of 2016 LHP Scott Moss who developed quite well, I’d say. He’s been used as a trade trip to acquire Trevor Bauer, but he was sp depth in the minors- having won about 37 games in his 3 years in the Reds system. Reply Cguy August 10, 2019 Then there’s Josiah Gray………………………. MikeinSoCal August 10, 2019 Lorenzen needs a few days off to regroup. Probably overworked, seems to be fading. Romano or someone else needs to step up and be that 7th inning guy. That bridge to Iglesias is very shaky. Would like to see Bowman be brought back. Reply James August 10, 2019 Didn’t he just dominate against the Angels and Mike Trout? Reply RojoBenjy August 10, 2019 That was Good Michael. Sometimes he switches places with Bad Michael. I like Good Michael. Raisel has a Good and Bad also. Bill August 10, 2019 I noticed Keury Mella is hitting .300/.333/.400 and has been successfully used as a PH a couple of times this year. I’d like to see how his pitching plays in a relief role vs. starting. Like Sims, Romano and Reed, Mella will be out of options next year. Reply Norwood Nate August 10, 2019 Happy to see Siri glget that first AAA hit out of the way. He’s walking at a decent clip in a small sample size, which has long been an area for improvement. Reply DaveCT August 10, 2019 I have to wonder how seeing his teammate Aquino having success in the ML’s will add to Siri’s drive to do the same. Good things can come in bunches. Such as Aquino, VanMeter, Ervin, O’Grady, Senzel, etc. Reply Leave a Reply Cancel Reply Your email address will not be published.CommentName* Email* Website Notify me of follow-up comments by email.
