There’s still going to be fall and winter league baseball featuring some of the Cincinnati Reds prospects, but when it comes to the organization, the season is now officially over. Thanks for following along. We certainly aren’t done with the daily coverage, but the daily games most certainly are over. The Billings Mustangs lost 6-4. Box Score Quin Cotton went 2-5 with a double, run scored, and an RBI. James Free went 1-5 with a solo home run. Eric Yang went 1-4. Victor Ruiz went 1-4 with an RBI. Leonardo Seminati went 3-4 with a solo home run. Jonathan Willems went 1-3. Reniel Ozuna went 1-4 with a run scored. Quincy McAfee went 1-4. Jose Salvador threw a shutout inning with 3 strikeouts. Carlos Carreno was charged with 2 unearned runs in an inning of work. Justin McGregor allowed a run in 2.2 innings with a walk and a strikeouts. Alec Byrd threw a hitless inning with a walk and a strikeout. Francis Peguero threw a shutout inning with a strikeout. This game began on Tuesday evening. Game time was moved up from the originally scheduled start time because they saw the storm coming. They didn’t move it up enough as the game made it to the middle of the 2nd inning before the rain arrived and suspended the game with the Mustangs leading 1-0. On Wednesday they pushed the start time back an hour. Then they pushed it back two hours. Neither mattered as the game wound up never beginning again and was scheduled to begin again on Thursday afternoon. Clear skies arrived and the game got rolling. Idaho Falls grabbed the lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning, but the Mustangs tied things back up in the top of the 3rd on a James Free solo homer. The Chukars took the lead back in the 5th with a run to make it 3-2. Leonardo Seminati hit a no-doubter to tie things up in the next half-inning. But Idaho Falls took a 6-3 lead in the bottom of the 7th on a long 3-run home run. Billings threatened in the top of the 9th. Reniel Ozuna led off the inning and scored on Quin Cotton’s double to make it 6-4. But that was all the Mustangs offense had left. It won’t be long until the Arizona Fall League begins – just six more days (Wednesday the 18th). But until then there won’t be any daily “game” updates.
